tHE 2013 ADULT READING CHALLENGE IS NOW UNDERWAY. SEE BELOW FOR DETAILS.
The primary use of the community room is for library sponsored programs but, may be used by civic, educational, or cultural groups. The room may be used free of charge and all meetings must be open to the public. Nothing may be sold, no orders may be taken, and no fees may be charged to those attending or exhibiting.
The room will hold approximately 50 people.
You may reserve the room by calling the library at 256-353-2993, ext. 100 for a one-time use. For recurring meetings an application must be completed, approved and updated annually.
1. The room is not available for private or social functions such as birthday parties, baby showers, family reunions, etc.
2. Political campaign events.
3. Paid tutoring sessions.
4. Private interviews.
5. Religious services.
6. Promotion of commercial products, services, or businesses.
Children's groups may use the room provided they are supervised by one or more adult sponsors, and the activity is of a civic, cultural, or educational nature.
The library provides chairs, tables, and podiums but groups must bring their own audio-visual equipment. Groups are responsible for their own furniture set up. All furnishings must be returned to their original position at the end of the meeting.
Light refreshments and non-alcoholic drinks are allowed but there are no kitchen facilities. The room must be left in the same clean condition in which it was found or future use of the room will be denied.
